Make it stand out

New York, 24th  September — mOm Incubators (mOm) is proud to launch a new Commitment to Action at the 2025 Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) with the aim of improving neonatal care across the globe. Under this commitment, mOm will supply its award-winning, innovative incubator into crisis zones in order to save infant lives.

Key highlights:

  • mOm is launching its CGI Commitment to Action to deploy its incubator system to support vulnerable newborns in conflict and humanitarian emergencies. mOm aims to deliver up to 40 mOm Essential Incubator systems, working with NGO partners to impact the lives of 2,000 babies annually.

  • Already in use across six countries, including in the UK NHS and in active crisis zones like Ukraine, mOm’s technology is clinically proven.

  • mOm is one of the select organisations chosen to showcase its work in CGI’s What’s Working Way .

  • James Roberts, CEO and Co-Founder of mOm Incubators Ltd, says: “We have shown that we can save lives and keep parents close to their babies all over the world, from the NHS to some of the world’s most challenging healthcare situations. We look forward to continuing to help the most vulnerable through our CGI-backed Commitment to Action.”

Preterm Birth and Crisis Zones - The Urgent Need:

War and other crises have been shown to increase the rates of preterm birth, which is among the leading causes of death in children under 5.  In Sudan, for example, preterm birth rates are estimated at about 13.3% of all births. In Gaza, a recent UNFPA report found that 33% of newborns between January and June 2025 were born prematurely, were underweight, or required neonatal intensive care. These figures highlight how, when healthcare systems collapse, power is unreliable, and stress, malnutrition, and displacement are daily realities, the danger to newborns becomes acute.

What Sets the mOm Essential Incubator Apart:

The mOm Essential Incubator has been designed specifically to meet the challenges of providing care in low-resource and crisis environments. It is lightweight and compact, simplifying the logistics of delivery to crisis zones.  Quick assembly and simple controls enable rapid staff training without compromising safety or effectiveness. The system is energy-efficient, and equipped with a back-up battery and built-in surge protection, which is vital in conflict zones where power is unstable and outages are frequent. Clinically proven and reliable, it helps reduce the overwhelming burden on already struggling healthcare systems and exhausted clinical staff.

mOm’s Commitment Through CGI:

Through its Commitment to Action, mOm will work with NGOs to deliver up to 40 incubator systems, with initial deployment in regions such as Sudan and Gaza. By working with partners on the ground, mOm aims to deliver proven, reliable neonatal care to places where conventional incubators cannot reach or fail to function. This initiative is expected to help impact over 2,000 newborn lives annually.

Clinicians and partners around the world are already seeing the results of what implementing mOm incubators can do for neonatal care. “The [mOm] equipment is a lifesaver and easy to operate and handle,” said a midwife in a current conflict zone. An NGO partner in Haiti added: “Newborns requiring specialised care are receiving vital treatment at Justinien University Hospital, where new [mOm] incubators and respiratory equipment have already prevented deaths that might otherwise have been inevitable.”

Quote:

“Our mission has always been to give every baby the best start in life through smarter healthcare technology, no matter where they are born. This means supporting care pathways in countries like the UK and the US, while also delivering this vital level of care in the toughest circumstances, such as Ukraine and Haiti. We are now active in six countries, where we have seen that our system is making a positive difference. We can go where conventional systems cannot. Through CGI, we aim to bring this life-saving technology to those who need it most.”
